Thank You
Dear SSGT Calvin Fielder,
Thank you for your service as an Huey, UH-1 Helicopter Repairer. It is Labor Day weekend, and we remember you all. It has been too long, and it's about time for us all to acknowledge the sacrifices of those like you who answered our nation's call. Please watch over America, it stills needs your strength, courage and faithfulness. Rest in peace with the angels.

Never Forgotten
Dear Calvin Fielder, Please know you will never be forgotten. You made the ultimate sacrifice for our country and I thank you for that. I am also from Chattanooga, TN as was my brother Lonnie A. Floyd who was KIA in Vietnam 1-14-67. I know all too well the heartache your family had when they learned of your death as I still carry the same painful heartache 47 years later for my brother. Rest in peace.

Remembering An American Hero
Dear SSGT Calvin Fielder, sir
As an American, I would like to thank you for your service and for your sacrifice made on behalf of our wonderful country. The youth of today could gain much by learning of heroes such as yourself, men and women whose courage and heart can never be questioned.
May God allow you to read this, and may He allow me to someday shake your hand when I get to Heaven to personally thank you. May he also allow my father to find you and shake your hand now to say thank you; for America, and for those who love you.
With respect, and the best salute a civilian can muster for you, Sir
Curt Carter

FREEDOM
by Father Denis Edward O'Brien, USMC
It is the soldier, not the reporter
Who has given us the freedom of the press.
It is the soldier, not the poet,
Who has given us Freedom of speech.
It is the soldier, not the campus organizer
Who has given us the Freedom to demonstrate
It is the soldier, who serves beneath the Flag,
Who salutes the Flag,
Whose coffin is draped by the Flag,
Who allows the protestor to burn the Flag,
It is the soldier, not the politician,
Who has given his blood, his body, his life,
Who has given us these FREEDOMS!
