Ground Casualty

LCPL John F. Ashman was a tank crewman serving with B Company, 1st Tank Battalion, 3rd Marine Division. On December 23, 1965, LCPL Ashman was killed when he was hit by a burst of machine gun fire from a Marine weapon that was discharged accidently while being cleaned. We Remember

John was a Tank Crewman with B CO, 1st Tank BN, 3rd Marine DIV when he died in an accident while serving in Quang Tin Province, Vietnam. RIP John, your bravery and dedication to your country will never be forgotten.
