We Served Together

HN Gerald Feltner and I served together at the Naval Hospital in Millington. I remember him as a quiet friendly guy with a gentle manner. We both served on the wards for a while and I was transferred to the hospital laboratory. At one time he worked in the newborn nursery. My tour of duty was up July 65. Around then, corpsmen began to be shipped out for duty in Nam. As the war was ramping up, the enlistment dates were extended for many assigned there. Years later our CO told me our hospital had many improvements made to make it better for the remaining corpsmen there.

I am thankful to Gerald and so many others like him who gave their life for their country.
