Thank You
Dear LT Gary Faculak,
Thank you for your service as a Procurment Officer. It has been too long, and it's about time for us all to acknowledge the sacrifices of those like you who answered our nation's call. Please watch over America, it stills needs your strength, courage and faithfulness. Rest in peace with the angels.

To Know that Someone Cares
Forty-seven years seem like eternity, yet at times it seems like only yesterday. I promised you that night, that I would never forget you. Over the years I have learned that people truly loved and cared so deeply about you. My heart can rest knowing that people care.

I remember the day
I was in DC last weekend and visited the wall for the fifth and probably last time. I of course looked at Gary's name on the wall.
It was the middle of the night when I was awaken to be told that Gary was killed in an explosion at the BOQ.
I had a friend from I corps staying with me that night that I was going to take him around Saigon. I was very angry that someone as kind and innocent as Gary was a victim of such a dastardly act of terrorism. Many of us who served at USAHAC-CPA have passed and have joined Gary.

I will never forget, Gary
Because you and Roger were older, I feel that I didn't know you very well. I do remember some times we saw each other at picnics at Cadillac, and the last being at Grandma Elva's house when you did a recitation that you had prepared for a class. Thank you for your service to our country and for giving your life in that service. I will not ever forget you.
