Do Not Stand at my Grave and Weep
Do not stand at my grave and weep
I am not there; I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow,
I am the diamond glints on snow,
I am the sun on ripened grain,
I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you awaken in the morning's hush
I am the swift uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the soft stars that shine at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry,
I am not there; I did not die.
As long as you are remembered you will never die...
I am not there; I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow,
I am the diamond glints on snow,
I am the sun on ripened grain,
I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you awaken in the morning's hush
I am the swift uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circled flight.

As long as you are remembered you will never die...

Final Mission of SP4 Francisco Asanoma
SP4 Francisco Asanoma was an infantryman serving with C Company, 1st Battalion, 20th Infantry, 11th Infantry Brigade, Americal Division. On October 30, 1970, SP4 Asanoma was on an operation in Quang Ngai Province, RVN, during which he was being transported by watercraft. The boat reportedly overturned four miles north of Mo Duc Airfield. Asanoma was not seen again after going into the water and was presumed drowned; he was listed as Missing in Action the following day. On November 9th, his body was recovered, and it was positively identified five days later. Asanoma was posthumously promoted to Sergeant. [Taken from coffeltdatabase.org]
