Do not stand at my grave and weep

Do not stand at my grave and weep.
I am not there; I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow,
I am the diamond glints on snow,
I am the sun on ripened grain,
I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you awaken in the morning's hush
I am the swift uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the soft stars that shine at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry,
I am not there; I did not die.

Mary Frye – 1932

Joe's Photo Found

Joe's father and my grandfather were friends. I too graduated from The Citadel, was commissioned in the Army, and went on to fly Hueys for twenty three years. I have heard about Joe for many years and recall seeing this photo often. When my grandfather died, I found it in his belongings, It seemed like the right thing to do to have it posted here. Even though I never knew him, I hope he knows that he is not forgotten.

A BULLDAWG

JOE EUBANKS GRADUATED FROM THE CITADEL IN 1969. I DID NOT KNOW HIM WELL, BUT I REMEMBER HIM, AND REMEMBER THAT HE WAS A SOLID CADET. PAT CONROY HAS INCLUDED HIM IN HIS LATEST BOOK, "MY LOSING SEASON." JOE EUBANKS WAS A FINE AMERICAN WHO GAVE HIS LIFE FOR HIS COUNTRY. GOD BLESS HIM.

Old School Friend Remembered

Why do some die and some live? I am now 58 years old, served three years in Vietnam with the 3rd and 5th. Special Forces, wounded twice, but lived to tell my story. Not a day goes by that I don't think about you dieing and me living.
Captain Richard W. Evans, Concord, North Carolina graduated with Joe from CHS in May 1964.
