Ground Casualty
SP4 Daniel K. Erlandson and SP4 Cecil W. Southerland were cannon crewmembers serving with B Battery, 2nd Battalion, 94th Artillery, 108th Artillery Group, XXIV Corps. On January 17, 1971, both soldiers were fatally injured when the vehicle they were traveling on struck a mine near Hill 52 on the road to Da Nang. [Taken from coffeltdatabase.org]
