Together Once More

You were my uncle and lived with us in southern Arizona for period when I was in elementary school. You were bigger than life to me and at times a role model. Your older brother, my father George, died last March. One of his greatest desires was to be together again with his wife Yvonne, his brother Roy and his sisters. I have always been very proud of you as a soldier and your service to this nation. I am sitting on my porch in complete peace because of you. You are never far from my thoughts.

do not stand at my grave and weep

Do not stand at my grave and weep
I am not there. I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow.
I am the diamond glints on snow.
I am the sunlight on ripened grain.
I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you awaken in the morning's hush
I am the swift uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the soft stars that shine at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry;
I am not there. I did not die.
