REMEMBRANCES

LEFT FOR ROGER GENE EMRICH
POSTED ON 3.30.2011

If I should die...remembrances for LCDR Roger Gene EMRICH, USN...who made the ultimate sacrifice!!!!

If I should die, and leave you here awhile, be not like others, sore undone, who keep long vigils by the silent dust, and weep...for MY sake, turn again to life, and smile...Nerving nthy heart, and trembling hand to do something to comfort other hearts than thine...Complete these dear, unfinished tasks of mine...and I, perchance, may therein comfort you.

Classmate at Yale

Roger and I were in the class of 1963 at Yale and studied electrical engineering. I remember Roger in his Navy ROTC uniform that he wore proudly. He always had a positive outlook on life and a smile on his face. I was deeply sadened to learn of his death. Each time I have visited the wall, I have stopped to remember my friend Roger at the location of his name and each time I leave with a lump in my throat.

Thank you Sir

Although we never met personally, I want to thank you Roger Gene Emrich, for your courageous and valiant service, many years of faithfully contributing, and most holy sacrifice, given to this great country of ours!

Your Spirit is alive--and strong, therefore, you shall never be forgotten, nor has your death been in vain!

Again, thank you LCDR Emrich, for a job well done!

FAIR WINDS, AND ETERNAL PEACE MY FRIEND

I remember

I recently requested a POW/MIA bracelet and on it was the name LCDR Roger Emrich. I currently serve in a joint command at MacDill AFB, FL and thought it was appropriate to find out some information about this individual.
