Remembering A Lost Friend

Well Gil its been awhile since I visited the memorial to view your name (2005) This week in May 2021, the wall came to my home town and I paid a visit to view your name agin and it was very sad for me to see your name again. My life has been good with two children and three grandchildren something that you never had and it make me feel sad. The country that we fought for has changed so much in recent times and it wouldn't make you happy or proud to see what has been going on. They say the wall will heal, but for me the memories of that time will be with me until I'm no longer here. Funny how after all these year I can hear your voice and remember it like it was yesterday. Sempre Fi my friend.

Do Not Stand at my Grave and Weep

Do not stand at my grave and weep
I am not there; I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow,
I am the diamond glints on snow,
I am the sun on ripened grain,
I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you awaken in the morning's hush
I am the swift uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the soft stars that shine at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry,
I am not there; I did not die.

As long as you are remembered you will never die...

Remembering An American Hero

Dear PFC Gilbert D Arroyo-Brenes, sir

As an American, I would like to thank you for your service and for your sacrifice made on behalf of our wonderful country. The youth of today could gain much by learning of heroes such as yourself, men and women whose courage and heart can never be questioned.

May God allow you to read this, and may He allow me to someday shake your hand when I get to Heaven to personally thank you. May he also allow my father to find you and shake your hand now to say thank you; for America, and for those who love you.

With respect, Sir

Curt Carter
