Memorial Day

Sometimes life has some funny twists and turns. Within the past year, my Niece, Rebecca Herbert, moved to Casper, Wyoming when her husband landed a job teaching at the local high school. The same Casper WY where my Campolindo HS classmate, Cpl. David R. Elliott, USMC, was buried in his family’s plot nearly 47 years ago. Which means that his grave marker will be decorated with flowers at this time of year for the foreseeable future, as has been an American tradition since shortly after the Civil War
