Heaven's Gain
My brother Anthony was the “baby” in a five son family. We were very close as kids, and it was extremely painful when he was sent to Vietnam, especially since we had lost another brother who drowned while in the Air Force a few years earlier. We grew up on a small Appalachian farm where we literally “lived off the land,” and Anthony, from childhood, developed a strong work ethic by helping with the never-ending chores. He had a very winning personality and many friends. He married young and loved his wife dearly. They had no children but hoped to start a family when he returned from his Vietnam tour. He is still missed by many.
