Dear Captain Thomas Eddy,
Thank you for your service as a Field Artillery Unit Commander. We remember all you who gave their all. It has been too long, and it's about time for us all to acknowledge the sacrifices of those like you who answered our nation's call. Please watch over America, it stills needs your strength, courage and faithfulness. Rest in peace with the angels.

Remembering An American Hero

Dear Captain Thomas Earl Eddy, sir

As an American, I would like to thank you for your service and for your sacrifice made on behalf of our wonderful country. The youth of today could gain much by learning of heroes such as yourself, men and women whose courage and heart can never be questioned.

May God allow you to read this, and may He allow me to someday shake your hand when I get to Heaven to personally thank you. May he also allow my father to find you and shake your hand now to say thank you; for America, and for those who love you.

With respect, Sir

Curt Carter

Texas Lutheran College-- Capt Thomas E Eddy Award

Thomas attended Texas Lutheran College and played football there in 1961 and 1962. He was killed in action June 1966. In 1967 his family and friends established the Capt. Thomas E. Eddy Memorial Award in his honor which is given each year to an outstanding TLC football player along with a nominal scholarship. The current Texas Lutheran University media guide for football lists all the players honored with the award. This award has been highly regarded by the players over the past 47 years and will continue to be in the future. I was honored to received the award in 1972. Before his parents passing several years ago all of us players honored by the award would meet with them at an annual picnic and had a great time visiting with them and each other. Mr. and Mrs. Eddy were wonderful people and always called us "their sons". I did not know Thomas but I am sure he was much like his parents and his loss was tragic.
