One of the best

Artie and I went to Phoenix College together. He loved to laugh and had so many friends. He was always ready to listen and to go have fun. When he came back from basic training he took his call seriously. Writing letters from Viet Nam he had such respect for the soldiers who were serving with him from South Viet Nam. Such a loss as a fine person and a friend. Thank you Artie for your service and your life. Louise Turley Neale

Thank you

I wore Arthur Ecklund's POW bracelet for several years and still have it. I hope his family has found peace over the years through his bravery and patriotism.

Rest in Peace

Art Ecklund went through helicopter flight training with my brother and I knew him from Fort Rucker. I was in aircraft maintenance at the time. I eventually went through OCS and primary fixed wing flight school and was sent to Vietnam and was stationed with the 183rd. When I arrived at the unit I saw Art's name of the wall showing that he was MIA. What a shock as I was not aware. May he rest in Peace.

Bracelet

I wore a POW/MIA bracelet with Arthur’s name in the early ‘70s. I’ve been to the Wall to visit him twice. RIP and thank you for your service.

Thaanks to all for the rememberance of Artie

We were childhood kids together and I was his substitute on his paper route
I last saw him the day he withdrew from Arizona State to pursue his love of flying in the Army
I am in contact with his sister and her daughters and grand kids.
If you would be interested in returning the bracelet to the family I am happy to forward them to her.
I have done that a number of times to date.
I do still have mine as he was the older brother I never had..
