Thank You
Dear Sgt Robert Ecker,
Thank you for your service as an Indirect Fire Infantryman. We remember all you who gave their all. It has been too long, and it's about time for us all to acknowledge the sacrifices of those like you who answered our nation's call. Please watch over America, it stills needs your strength, courage and faithfulness. Rest in peace with the angels.

50 Years Later I'm Still Missing That Wonderful Guy
I Met Robert in Advanced Infantry Training at FT. Polk, LA in early 1966.We became Friends Instantly But it was that way with Everybody Who met Robert. I was stationed a few Miles north of him in Vietnam.I was wounded and sent to Bien Hoa for Treatment. While there I saw the 173rd Airborne area and decided to take a chance that he would be there.I Only Had to Ask Once .Everybody there Knew Robert. I found him and He yelled out "KNEE" and gave me that Million Dollar Smile.I'm in Sales and often Think Robert Would Have Been an amazing salesman. He Always Remembered everybody's name and Gave them that wonderful Smile.God Bless His Family And Friends. My mother Bridget sat next to you in homeroom and always spoke of what a nice guy you were. You always came up in conversations when we visited Springdale. My aunt had a crush on you (and I admit I had one on your yearbook photo). I remember my mother took us to the Wall when it opened too see your name and my husband and I stopped at the memorial in Lower Burrell to pay our respects. You weren't a family member but my family loved you and passed your memory on to us.
