Thank You

Dear PFC David Echols,
Thank you for your service as a Machine Gunner. Yesterday was your 71st birthday. Happy birthday. We remember all you who gave their all. It has been too long, and it's about time for us all to acknowledge the sacrifices of those like you who answered our nation's call. Please watch over America, it stills needs your strength, courage and faithfulness. Rest in peace with the angels.

A Thought of Remembrance!

David was raised with my brother and myself, making him like a brother to me! He was my confidante and best buddy even though he was a little younger than myself. I loved him very much and trusted him to be a good person; unfortunately, he was able to live long enough to show everyone that he was all of that and more. He was a gentle soul and almost died at a very early age due to being burned (scalded) over much of his body but he never allowed that to deter him. Smiles, he even went to bingo with me sometimes. He left us doing something he wish to do more than anything and that was to be Marine. I loved him and even today, I miss him...my nephew, my buddy and my friend. You'd probably be a mellow man today after serving your country. Love you sweetheart and GOD BLESS YOU!
