Thank you

My name is Eleni and Dimitri was my uncle. I have read all of these posts and I was struck with your remembrances of not only my uncle as a soldier but as them many you knew before he went to war. He died many years before I was born and so I only have stories to help me "know" him. I posted a picture of him in response to the people who have posted such nice things about him.

Just as an FYI - While Dimitri's parents are both deceased, all of his brothers and his sister are still living. His memory lives on through all of us! Thank you all for your kind words.

Nothing but admiration

I would love to see a picture of Jimmy. My family grew up in Richmond Hill and I have friends that used to hang out with him at The Terminal restaurant but no one has a picture of him. The fact that he served our country at such a young age while being native to another is beyond words, wish I knew him and pray he hears all remembrances.

Sweetest guy ever

I knew Jimmy from the greek restaurant we hung out in, THE TERMINAL in Richmond Hill. he was the sweetest guy and worked there for his brothers. he answered the call without hesitation of his adopted country even though i think he still wasn't a cititzen. he died while i was in basic training. i never go to DC without saying hello
