My Friend

Eric sat next to me in Sophomore Home Room. I had know him since elementary school. Eric left Gallatin High after June, 1968 & joined the Marine Corp. I remember him often as I pass his plaque on Vietnam Veterans Boulevard.

At the time that he laid the ultimate sacrifice on the altar of freedom, I and his other classmates were enjoying the freedom that he purchased in our high school junior year.

I will never cease to be grateful to My Friend for his service to our nation. Thank you & Rest In Peace

FOREVER GRATEFUL

Thank you Eric for paying the ultimate sacrifice so we may continue to live free. I am humbled and grateful to be your sister. Words cannot express the amount of respect I have for you and all those that answered our nation's call. You laid down your life so others may live free and in peace. May you rest in peace now, and know that you are never forgotten. Until we meet again, I love you.

Thank you for your service to our country so long ago sir. I am 73 and have lived a long and fulfilling life. It is tragic you never had that same opportunity. May you rest in eternal peace.
