Remembering An American Hero

Dear SP4 Donald L Dryoel, sir

As an American, I would like to thank you for your service and for your sacrifice made on behalf of our wonderful country. The youth of today could gain much by learning of heroes such as yourself, men and women whose courage and heart can never be questioned.

May God allow you to read this, and may He allow me to someday shake your hand when I get to Heaven to personally thank you. May he also allow my father to find you and shake your hand now to say thank you; for America, and for those who love you.

With respect, Sir

Curt Carter

Thank You Dad

I am SO very proud of the sacrifices you made for our country. I wish I would have had the opportunity to know you while you were still on this earth but I do know that someday we will meet again. I can't wait to feel the your embrace and let you know how much I missed you. Everyone that knew you has told me what an amazing man you were. That just warms my heart. Until we meet again please know that you are thought of often. I proudly display your picture and Purple Heart in my dining room which is a constant reminder of the precious man you were. Much love from your one and only daughter. xoxo

The best son anyone could ask for

Donald was the best son anyone could ask for. He was so thoughtful and giving. One thing I will always remember- I was in the hospital for surgery and he came up on his lunch hours and he brought me a small bowl with plastic fish in it. He was only 12 years old at that time.

I still have the bowl with the fish in it.
