Strange notifications

A friend and I were in Long Beach CA in Aug 69 and they had a digital display that ran continuously in alphabetical order showing casualties as they were reported. My friend said wouldn't it be something if Bobby Armes name came up. When it got back to the "A's", his name appeared. I will never forget that night or Bobby...Rest in peace my friend...

Remembering An American Hero

Dear CPL Bobby Wayne Armes, sir

As an American, I would like to thank you for your service and for your sacrifice made on behalf of our wonderful country. The youth of today could gain much by learning of heroes such as yourself, men and women whose courage and heart can never be questioned.

May God allow you to read this, and may He allow me to someday shake your hand when I get to Heaven to personally thank you. May he also allow my father to find you and shake your hand now to say thank you; for America, and for those who love you.

With respect, and the best salute a civilian can muster for you, Sir

Curt Carter

To A Fallen Brother

Bobby was a fraternity brother of mine when we attended Concord College in Athens, WV, from 1965-67. I am a Viet Nam vet. What I remember most about Bobby was his intelligence, wit, and outgoing personality. He was one of the first members of Theta Xi that I was introduced to and he was one of the reasons I joined. His dedication and devotion to the bonds impressed me greatly. We would discuss many things, life in general, and our futures. Although it has been 31 years, I still can recall those talks. It is so odd that with all those I have met in my life, his presence in mine, I will treasure forever. Sleep in Peace, Brother. Yours in the Bond.
