Remembering a Special Person

Still miss you, Bobby, even after 50+ years. I remember our fun times getting together as kids. And I looked forward to sending and receiving letters when you were in the service.

Do Not Stand at my Grave and Weep

Do not stand at my grave and weep
I am not there; I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow,
I am the diamond glints on snow,
I am the sun on ripened grain,
I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you awaken in the morning's hush
I am the swift uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the soft stars that shine at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry,
I am not there; I did not die.

long time friend

We graduated from Interboro together. We both worked for Scott Paper together and got drafted the same day. We took the train ride to Fort Bragg and were in the same company for basic training. We flew to Fort Polk together for advanced training but were in different companys. We hung out when we could get together and flew home for our leave before Nam. We both ended up in the 4th Div. but in different units. I think of him often and will never forget the smile always on his face. RIP old friend until we meet again.

THANK YOU

Dear PFC Robert Diehl,
Thank you for your service as an Infantryman. It has been too long, and it's about time for us all to acknowledge the sacrifices of those like you who answered our nation's call. Please watch over America, it stills needs your strength, courage and faithfulness. Rest in peace with the angels.
