Currahee

Jim graduated from Burnt River High School, Unity Oregon. I'm not sure which year it was. Beside his picture, is the quote, "I plan on being a rancher."

He was born June 3, 1949 in Ontario, Oregon, the son of Paul and Verna Dickson. Jim had a sister, Ella Rae. Jim's father died in 1966.

In high school, he participated in Football, Basketball and Baseball, all four years.

He enlisted in the US Army June 10, 1968 and served with the 506 Infantry, part of the 101st Airborne Division. On February 26, 1969, while serving in Viet Nam, Jim was killed by a "booby-trap," which also wounded four other Currahees. He had been in country just a little over three months. He was 19 years old.

God rest your soul, Currahee!
