Dear SP4 Carl Francis Arbogast Jr, sir

As an American, I would like to thank you for your service and for your sacrifice made on behalf of our wonderful country. The youth of today could gain much by learning of heroes such as yourself, men and women whose courage and heart can never be questioned.

May God allow you to read this, and may He allow me to someday shake your hand when I get to Heaven to personally thank you. May he also allow my father to find you and shake your hand now to say thank you; for America, and for those who love you.

Carl and I were both born on the same date- 08/18/44 and were serving in Nam on 5/13/69. By the stroke of pure fate, I cam home in good shape while my soulmate, Carl, was not that fortunate. God bless your soul, Carl.

Carl and I were on the same team in the Babe Ruth Baseball league for youngsters. He loved the game and was terror when he got on base.

He also was in our First Methodist Church. We had lots of fun together at Camp Michigamme.

Carl is buried at Park Cemetery in Marquette, MI.

Carl was always seen carrying a briefcase to every class.
