Warrant Officer Danny Lee Dewey (Helicopter Pilot) served with the 1st Aviation Brigade, 7th Squadron, 17th Cavalry, C Troop. He began his tour on April 29, 1970. On June 5, 1970 he was piloting the US Army OH-6A helicopter #65-12937 when he was hit by hostile fire and crashed. Records indicate he was the only casualty. Awarded: DFC, BSM, AM, PH. Via. Thank you for your service as an Utility & Observation Helicopter Pilot. It has been too long, and it's about time for us all to acknowledge the sacrifices of those like you who answered our nation's call. Please watch over America, it stills needs your strength, courage and faithfulness. Rest in peace with the angels.

It doesn't seem that long ago. Getting through the induction center and then basic and I remember you as a good friend.

My brother, what have I done?

I moved on from the war, from the pain.
