Always remembered
I went to high school with Mike, he was a very nice fun loving guy that wanted to get his education out of the way before he settled down. We had conversations about the draft before I went in the Army. We were very close and I miss him dearly.

A tragic accident in a dangerous land
Mike was one of the grunts of A Co / 1st / 501st Inf /101st Airborne Division in 1969. He died immediately after being shot accidentally while alpha co. waited in front of our HQ building at LZ Sally. We were assembled and ready to go out to the boonies for a night patrol when a M16, leaning against a rucksack, got jostled and discharged striking Mike in the head. We are so sorry, Mike. We hope your family can somehow forgive us for not watching over you better. Rest in peace dear brother in arms with the others on the WALL from alpha co.
