Boot Camp Buddies
William and I served together while in boot camp at Camp Pendleton, CA. We also had another friend who was from Seattle in boot camp with us. His name was John C. Thomas and he was killed in Vietnam also. He was in my unit, Kilo Co., 3rd Battalion, 4th Marines and was killed on Operation Hastings July 18, 1966 and it also buried in the Evergreen-Washelli Cemetery in Seattle. Rest in peace.

Remembering an American Hero
Dear PFC William Michael Denhoff, sir
As an American, I would like to thank you for your service and for your sacrifice made on behalf of our wonderful country. The youth of today could gain much by learning of heroes such as yourself, men and women whose courage and heart can never be questioned.
May God allow you to read this, and may He allow me to someday shake your hand when I get to Heaven to personally thank you. May he also allow my father to find you and shake your hand now to say 'thank you'; for America, and for those who love you.
With respect, and the best salute a civilian can muster for you, Sir
Curt Carter

Too young to die
You dated my older sister and were at our house many times. You were always kind to me and I thought of you as a fun older brother. At nineteen, you were too young to die but you will always be lovingly remembered.
