46 years that you have been gone

Yesterday was the 46th anniversary of your death and next month would have been our 47th wedding anniversary. Yesterday I spent the afternoon with your sister Sherry, brother Jimmy and Lynn Nix - the man who was with you, Robert Cunningham and Albert Tsosie when you all were attacked. After all these years, so glad to know what actually happened and that you did not die alone and knew Lynn was with you. Yesterday we cried because we miss you and then laughed as we shared memories of the fun things you used to do. You are forever in our hearts and in our thoughts.

Remembering An American Hero

Dear LCPL Joe B Delaphiano, sir

As an American, I would like to thank you for your service and for your sacrifice made on behalf of our wonderful country. The youth of today could gain much by learning of heroes such as yourself, men and women whose courage and heart can never be questioned.

May God allow you to read this, and may He allow me to someday shake your hand when I get to Heaven to personally thank you. May he also allow my father to find you and shake your hand now to say thank you; for America, and for those who love you.

With respect, and the best salute a civilian can muster for you, Sir

Curt Carter
