Today in 1968
Today in 1968 your life was cut short. It is a sad day and I want to remember that you were a good and decent person who took me under your wings back in our senior year in high school. You are not forgotten.

Tommy was special
Tommy was special - I was very shy in High School but he always was able to make me relax when he spoke to me. He was well grounded and always had a smile on his face. That he died in such a senseless war makes it all the more the tragedy.

Remembering An American Hero
Dear SP4 Thomas Jolley Dean, sir
As an American, I would like to thank you for your service and for your sacrifice made on behalf of our wonderful country. The youth of today could gain much by learning of heroes such as yourself, men and women whose courage and heart can never be questioned.
May God allow you to read this, and may He allow me to someday shake your hand when I get to Heaven to personally thank you. May he also allow my father to find you and shake your hand now to say thank you; for America, and for those who love you.
With respect, and the best salute a civilian can muster for you, Sir
Curt Carter

Missing a classmate
As our 50th high school reunion approaches, I remember with fondness one of the first friends I made when I moved to Scarsdale in 1953. We played football and baseball together in elementary school; were in Cub Scouts as well. A kind and generous boy whose absence will be felt when his classmates gather.
