Remembering An American Hero

Dear 1LT Franklin Victory Delara, sir

As an American, I would like to thank you for your service and for your sacrifice made on behalf of our wonderful country. The youth of today could gain much by learning of heroes such as yourself, men and women whose courage and heart can never be questioned.

May God allow you to read this, and may He allow me to someday shake your hand when I get to Heaven to personally thank you. May he also allow my father to find you and shake your hand now to say thank you; for America, and for those who love you.

With respect, Sir

Curt Carter

Thank you for helping to save the lives of the men in Company B

Frank was truly an American hero. Without his gallantry our Company would have been taken apart by mortar fire. As the platoon leader of Company B, I salute Frank for his actions and keep him always in my prayers.

To my best friend in Viet Nam. We fought together as Forward Observers in two Companies. Frank with Bravo Company 1/6th, me with A Company 1/6th. I heard his last fire mission during a mortar attack. He died bravely calling in artillery support for his men. RIP old friend. Sorry it took so long to find this site.
