Remembering An American Hero

Dear 1LT David Marshall Anthony, sir

As an American, I would like to thank you for your service and for your sacrifice made on behalf of our wonderful country. The youth of today could gain much by learning of heroes such as yourself, men and women whose courage and heart can never be questioned.

May God allow you to read this, and may He allow me to someday shake your hand when I get to Heaven to personally thank you. May he also allow my father to find you and shake your hand now to say thank you; for America, and for those who love you.

With respect, and the best salute a civilian can muster for you, Sir

Curt Carter

Your life is not forgotten

David, Although we never met,
I just want you to know you are
not forgotten. You gave the ultimate
sacrifice, your life for what you believed
in. Sleep well my friend, and thank you
for protecting the freedoms we enjoy
today.
David, I read the really nice note from your son. You must be very proud of him, and are still watching over him and now your grandson.

I am His Son

As it is written: "Greater love has no man than this, that he lay down his life for his brothers." I am David's son. My father, according to his Silver Star citation, laid down his life for his brothers in the field, and for all of us here. I was two and a half when he died. I have a son named David who is now seven. I named him after my father to keep his memory alive.

It has been my life-long desire to know him better, to know more about him, but I have not been very successful at finding those with whom he served. If you knew him, or served with him, would you please contact me?
