TRAVELING THROUGH MON CITY ON ROUTE 88

When I drive through the Mon Valley, I pass your "heroes" banner at Chess Park with all of the KIAs from Vietnam and other wars. The look in your eyes in the displayed photo "says it all." You paid the ultimate price and a settled debt that I can never repay until I see you in person in Glory. Thank you for giving me the civilian life I have today. Respectfully, Dave

Gone but never forgotten!!

With tear stained eyes I write this post. Dennis P. Day was my Uncle. I never had the chance to meet him but I feel as though I do. Thanks to memories that my mom, his sister has shared. I realize what an amazing man he was. He was taken from my family way to early. I know that I will meet him someday in heaven but until then..... I am fiercely patriotic because of his sacrifice for my freedoms!!

Remembering An American Hero

Dear HN Dennis Patrick Day, sir

As an American, I would like to thank you for your service and for your sacrifice made on behalf of our wonderful country. The youth of today could gain much by learning of heroes such as yourself, men and women whose courage and heart can never be questioned.

May God allow you to read this, and may He allow me to someday shake your hand when I get to Heaven to personally thank you. May he also allow my father to find you and shake your hand now to say thank you; for America, and for those who love you.

With respect, and the best salute a civilian can muster for you, Sir

Curt Carter
