To my baby brother of the family

To my baby brother of the family
Albert:
You were just a babe when you decided to fight for your country. How I wish you were not taken from us. In loving memory of you.

I salute you

I salute you
This is for you
My courageous neighbor
You had so much to see
and so much to learn
Yet you chose to serve your country
and liberate the unfortunate
being oppressed by communism
So to you PFC Alber Anter
I salute you
you fought well
But finished young
and still made your family
Rhode Island
and your country
proud that your heart and soul
were into the very meaning of the United States
Freedom

Still Remembered

Al and I first met on a train from Providence on July 5, 1966 on the way to Parris Island. We both grew up in R.I. only miles apart.
We ended up in the same platoon on P.I. 1048. We bunked next to each other. The best I can remember, there were 13 of us from R.I. on that train. We had a 4 hour lay over in NYC on the way and I remember we all visited the Empire State Bldg.
On Sept. 2, 1966, we graduated from P.I. That was the last time I saw Al.
I just wanted his family to know that I still remember.
