honoring you...
Thank you for your service to our country so long ago sir. I am 73 and have lived a long and fulfilling life. It is tragic you never had that same opportunity. May you rest in eternal peace.

I was with one of the platoons that was participating in a sweep along the base of Nui Ba Den Mountain on June 27, 1969. Arthur was small group that had dismounted from his APC and were working there way up a rocky trail through a banana grove at the base of the mountain when they made enemy contact. The rest of us who remained at the bottom immediately came under mortar attack and had to pull back out of range. It was then that it realized that a wounded man had been left behind. I was with the recovery team that provided fire support for the guys that went back up the mountain and recovered Arthur. He was medevaced out and most of us didnt know it had been him. I only knew him from having ridden with his squad on his APC several times. I had only been with our unit a few weeks before his incident. R.I.P. my brother. Honored and Pround to have served with you.
