Thank You

Dear Sgt Arnel Davis,
Thank you for your service as an Infantryman with the 1st Cavalry. We are celebrating Passover and Easter. It is a time of joy, and may that be yours in heaven. It is so important for us all to acknowledge the sacrifices of those like you who answered our nation's call. Please watch over America, it stills needs your strength, courage and faithfulness. Rest in peace with the angels.

Operation mail call

Ann landers started something called operation mail call. I was 12 years old...I was given your name and military address and we became pen pals. I received many letters from you. It was so nice when I would hear from you....you seemed to enjoy it as well. One day my letters started coming back. As a 12 year old I didn't understand. But I never forgot you. I had a friend that was going to Washington and I asked her to look for you on the Vietnam memorial. This was way before the internet!!! I had hoped you would not be on it. She found you and brought me a rubbing back! I still have it. I am now 62 years old! You have lived on in my mind for all these years. I hope someone in your family sees this so they can have comfort in knowing you have not been forgotten!

Personal rememberance

Dear Arnie, I just found this sight. It is so ironic that I now live on Lake Avalon where we first met so many years ago in 1960. I will never forget all those wonderful times we had for two weeks each summer in August. Never realizing that our lives would be changed by war. I am so proud of you and thank you for protecting and serving our country and ultimately giving your life in the line of duty while saving others. You will always be in thoughts and hopefully we meet again when the Lord calls me home. May you rest in peace and know you will never be forgotten. Love you forever, Jackie
