I Will Remember
Each day when I pass the Remembrance stone on our town Green with an inscription that reads: Dauten,Crosby,Brennan..'Eachpeaceful dawn in this place, let us remember these men who died for our Freedom', I know I will always remember all the service men and women who gave their lives for us.

If I should die...rememvbrances for MAJ. Frederick W. DAUTEN, JR, USAF...who died for our freedom!!!
If I should die, and leave you here awhile, be not like others, sore undone, who keep long vigils by the silent dust, and weep...for MY sake, turn again to life, and smile...Nerving thy heart, and trembling hand to do something to comfort other hearts than thine...Complete these dear, unfinished tasks of mine...and I, perchance, may therein comfort you.

Honoring you
Frederick W. Jr. Dauten I chose your name from the Connecticut map in the school listing all soldiers from Connecticut that lost their lives during the Vietnam War. As part of our Capt. Nathan Hale Middle School posting project, I would like to honor the sacrifice you made for our country. Soldiers, marines, sailors, and airmen who have sacrificed their lives for this country like you have are true heroes. Thank you.
