Former MIA Major Benjamin F. Danielson, USAF - POW/MIA RECOGNITION DAY 2020

The Department of Defense conducted ceremonies at the Pentagon and at Hickam AFB on Friday, 18 September 2020 in recognition of POW/MIA Recognition Day. Deputy Defense Secretary David L. Nordquist remembered the 1,586 MIAs from the Vietnam War as well as all those still unaccounted for from WWII, the Korean War, the Cold War and other conflicts. Director (Maj. Gen, USAFR, ret) Kelly McKeague of the Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency (DPAA) also recorded a separate video message to Gold Star MIA families. Additionally, the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Fund (VVMF) produced a “virtual” event on 18 Sep. Since the 2019 Ceremony, DPAA has positively identified 1 Vietnam War MIA. DPAA positively identified the remains of former MIA Major Benjamin Franklin Danielson, USAF, on 11 August 2006. On the date of this ceremony, Maj. Danielson was one of 1,056 Americans accounted for from the Vietnam War.

Former MIA Maj. Benjamin F. Danielson, USAF - UPDATE FROM DPAA (ReMaIns Recovered)

According to the Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency (DPAA) website at the below link, the remains of status of former MIA Major Benjamin Franklin Danielson, USAF, were positively identified on 11 August 2006:

The latest DPAA update (26 March 2021) lists 1,054 Americans positively identified in Southeast Asia from the Vietnam War. Maj. Danielson is one of those 1,054.

Former MIA Major Benjamin Franklin Danielson, USAF, has his name chiseled into one of the "Courts of the Missing" (Vietnam War Section, Court "A" (Air Force)) at the Honolulu Memorial in the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific on the island of Oahu in the state of Hawaii.
