My Brother
It has been so, so many years now since we got word of your passing. We were so sad for so long. We miss you still today and we wonder what life would have been like if you had come home. You definitely would have been career Navy and would have been very sucessful. It would have been really neat to see our children playing together. Your nieces and nephews are very aware of who you are, what you did, where you were and where you are. They are very proud of you as we all are. My granddaughter will learn of you and you know Kevin has nicknamed his son after you. An by golly, his "Bud" even looks like you.
Ted and I try to go back home every year in June to be sure that the grave site is looked after and to talk with you a little. I was back home this past June to see the memorial that was been erected for you, Carl Vincent, Bruce Colson and Willard Durham; and the others veterans of our hometown. The four of you were the only young men to die in Viet Nam from our hometown. They did a wonderful ceremony for the dedication last year. The head of the New York State Office of Veterans Affairs spoke as well as the last surviving member of the Marines that erected the flag at Iwo Jima.
I know that Mom and Dad are with you now and we know you greeted them with loving arms when they passed. Some day we will all be together again and we can make up for these last years. I miss you terribly.
I love you brother.
Bob

Big Brother
Buddy,
I miss you so very much, but I know that now that you have been joined in heaven with Mom and Dad that you are watching down over us all. I remember the last time you were home on leave and took me places and did things and I have always cherished those last moments forever. Thanks for being a big brother that cared about a little brother so much. Bob is still the same old Bob and Ted's a lot mellower than he was and we still get together whenever we can to reminisce about the old days. We have a son now and he's named after me, but his nickname is Bud, so there is still a Bud Andrus to always carry yours and Dads memory to the next generation.
I love you and miss you.
