Remembering An American Hero

Dear LCPL Theodore E Andreyka Jr, sir

As an American, I would like to thank you for your service and for your sacrifice made on behalf of our wonderful country. The youth of today could gain much by learning of heroes such as yourself, men and women whose courage and heart can never be questioned.

May God allow you to read this, and may He allow me to someday shake your hand when I get to Heaven to personally thank you. May he also allow my father to find you and shake your hand now to say thank you; for America, and for those who love you.

With respect, and the best salute a civilian can muster for you, Sir

Curt Carter

Honor Our Military

Let's honor our military,

The men and women who serve,

Whose dedication to our country

Does not falter, halt or swerve.

Let's respect them for their courage;

They're ready to do what's right

To keep America safe,

So we can sleep better at night.

Let's support and defend our soldiers,

Whose hardships are brutal and cruel,

Whose discipline we can't imagine,

Who follow each order and rule.

Here's to those who choose to be warriors

And their helpers good and true;

They're fighting for American values;

They're fighting for me and you.

These soldiers are courageous and strong

These are the soldiers who fight for right and wrong

This is a place, where soldiers live and die

This is a place, when soldiers silently cry

This is not a nightmare or a dream

This is a war where people scream

These are the soldiers who've been picked off the ground

These are the soldiers who've bled without a sound

These are the soldiers with flesh hanging wide

These are the soldiers with limbs torn from each side

These are the soldiers who stood tall in the heat

then crawled away from bombed-out streets

These are the soldiers who have been hurt

who lie there quietly in sand and dirt

These are the soldiers who dragged themselves away

then quivered in pain through night and day

These are soldiers that are just names & tags

These are soldiers sent home in body bags

These are the soldiers that we must remember

All year-long and especially on the 11th of September

These are soldiers who keep peace for you and me

These are the soldiers who live and die to stay free
