A Note of Thanks

Sir, my name is 1SG(Ret.) Troy A. Hilderbrand. My wife and I happened upon your final resting place searching for Mr. Nearest Green in Hillview cemetery. I saw your Great Awakening date of 1969. Saw the inscription that spoke of you being a friend to the country and a lover of God. I just KNEW you more than likely transitioned having served your country. Anyway, I just wanted to say a HEARTFELT THANK YOU. Not only to you but to your family as well. My father was also a Vietnam Veteran and my elder brother and I are also combat Veterans as well. Sometimes the world forgets about how they send us half way across the globe to Serve and when you make the ultimate sacrifice like you have, that you MATTERED to someone! In closing. I humbly THANK you for leading the way in Service of all of us and I humbly THANK your parents for their sacrifice to the Republic.
