Man of Great Character
I heard Major Cushman speak at a track meet in Minot, North Dakota while I was in high school. His words touched me then, and still do now. He could fly over hurdles like poetry in motion.

Cliff Cushman was a star athlete from Grand Forks, ND. As a kid growing up in Valley City, I remember Cliff and the records he set in track. Those records held for many, many years and his accomplishments were an inspiration for me, my family and my friends growing up. Thank you for the ultimate sacrifice Cliff. I'll always remember
