John, I never met you, but through your Mom I learned how dear you were to her, how proud she was of you and how she missed you every day. I was a young nurse learning and working with her at DGH then. I will never forget the day your Dad came to the L&D unit to tell her that you had died in Viet nam. They loved you so... So many years have passed since then but you are not forgotten. Rest in peace and be comforted by their love.

Jay since you left us, Dad died in '85. And mom has alheimzer's diesease. Many times I've looked at your picture and wish you were here to help me with mom's illness. Sometimes it is to much for me to handle alone. God Jay I sure miss you and wish you were here. I'm so alone . As Liz said mom really died a long time ago . She's in a nursing home but she's not the same mother we knew.

Never Forgotten
ALWAYS REMEMBERED
Slip off that pack. Set it down by the crooked trail. Drop your steel pot alongside. Shed those magazine-ladened bandoliers away from your sweat-soaked shirt. Lay that silent weapon down and step out of the heat. Feel the soothing cool breeze right down to your soul....and rest forever in the shade of our love, brother.
