THE WALL OF FACES

As my big brother, I always looked up to Dallas. We fished together, hunted together and got in mischief together and he was always looking out for others. He loved the water, loved the Navy and loved to tinker with engines so in my heart, Dallas died doing what he loved. Dallas died a HERO. Dallas died so others could have and that was just the nature of my brother. I know that some day we will meet again. He is now riding on the wings of an Angel, ride on Dallas, you may be gone, but your not forgotten. You live in our hearts and minds. I love you bro and miss you!

Dallas is buried at New Fernwood Cemetery, Kingston,RI. PH

FOREVER REMEMBERED

We Nam Brothers pause to give a backward glance, and post this remembrance to you, one of the gentle heroes lost to the War in Vietnam:

Slip off that pack. Set it down by the crooked trail. Drop your steel pot alongside. Shed those magazine-ladened bandoliers away from your sweat-soaked shirt. Lay that silent weapon down and step out of the heat. Feel the soothing cool breeze right down to your soul ... and rest forever in the shade of our love, brother.

Dallas lived in Wakefield, Rhode Island. He was son of the late Elma Inman and Mr. Cummings. He was a diesel mechanic on a ship in Danang.

Although we never met personally, I want to thank you, Dallas Dewey Cummings, for your courageous and valiant service, years of faithfully contributing, and most holy sacrifice, given to this great country of ours!

Your Spirit is alive--and strong, therefore, you shall never be forgotten, nor has your death been in vain!
