I trained with Tommie at Ft Benning Ga Scout Dog school Jan 1968-May 1968. My first real rememberance of Tommie was the middle of Jan’68 when it snowed enough to make a snowball. You would have thought it was Christmas morning and he had his first snowball in his hand.”Look at this Look at this” Us Marines from northern climates laughed over again and again. Tommie was KIA in the same fire fight with Pvt Prom from Pittsburgh. Pvt Prom was awarded Medal of Honor. Tommie’s scout dog,Bruno, was uninjured. I was the kennel master assigned to caring for the extra & wounded dogs. Bruno went from mild mannered to all teeth & eyeballs. I have the scars on my right forearm to remember him by. God bless Tommie. Semper Fi Marine
