Thank you for your service to our country so long ago sir. I am 73 and have lived a long and fulfilling life. It is tragic you never had that same opportunity. May you rest in eternal peace.

Didn't know you personally Karl but I was 2nd platoon. Bob Hungate was our mutual friend. I was out on patrol when you, the Lt. and my buddy Gierman left us. Hungate was hit but survived. That miserable chunk of real estate was responsible for so many WIA and KIA. The year before Ralph Henry Johnson made the ultimate sacrifice there and was awarded the medal of Honor. So many years ago now but just so you know, we haven't forgotten!

Thank you for your service as a Rifleman. It is so important for us all to acknowledge the sacrifices of those like you who answered our nation's call. Please watch over America, it stills needs your strength, courage and faithfulness. Rest in peace with the angels.
