THE WALL OF FACES

Crutchfield was my squad leader at ITR or my first duty station before going to Vietnam. He taught me so much and took me under his wing. He made me feel special because I was such a quick learner and felt he could be a great leader teacher while caring for those he liked. You could always tell he came from a small town, but the way he handled situations you would think he was a Marine his whole life. Somewhere our orders changed and I joined another platoon and eventually became a weapons expert. I was real sad the day I heard Sargent Crutchfield was killed in action so close to coming home. I still had months to go, but managed to get wounded and survived. I still have pictures of him and I showing me how to do something. Great guy, still miss him after all these years.

Dear SGT Charles Ellis Crutchfield, sir

As an American, I would like to thank you for your service and for your sacrifice made on behalf of our wonderful country. The youth of today could gain much by learning of heroes such as yourself, men and women whose courage and heart can never be questioned.

Hello, I would like if anyone who knew my uncle Charles Crutchfield and served with him, if you have any stories that you could tell us that would be great. Or if anyone was with him the day he passed away would be great to, to know anything about him would be appreciated.
