Memorial Day 1999 remembrance
Mark, it's difficult to believe you died over 30 years ago...I remember watching you play football at Carol City H.S. while I cheered you on from the sidelines with your sister, Geroma. When I was at college I remember receiving the phone call telling me of your death. I was so grieved. To this day I always remember you on Memorial Day and when I teach middle schoolers about the Vietnam War in my social studies class...yes, that's right I became a teacher in Georgia. I visited the Vietnam memorial with a group of students and now have a rubbing of your name from the wall. I show it every year to my students and tell them about you. I will continue to remember you and pray for your family.

St. Monica's
I didn't know Mark personally bug did know his brother Erik through our chuch. I remember seeing Mark at sunday mass and thinking what a big guy he was. Had a football players build and wore a crewcut if I"m not mistaken. I remember feeling very sad when they announced at mass that he had died. I was a teenager and it was a shock to actually hear that someone from our church had died in Vietnam. I felt so bad for his family. I will never forget that sunday at St. Monica's!
