Pfc Michael Lee Crouson, my little brother

Dear Brother,
Not a day goes by that I don't think of you. You really didn't want to go into the military, but when you knew it was time you followed in the footsteps of me and your brother, Tom. After your entry and call to God, our youngest brother, Luke also entered the USMC staying 22 years. My two sons - one named for you - and three other of your nephews also became Marines. I do hope that you know how proud I was, and am, of you. Your WWII Army Medic father and Gold Star mother are now with you, as someday we all shall be. Michael, you are my hero. God Bless and Keep, and Semper F!.
Your big brother, Terry N. Crouson, former Marine, [email protected]

"Greater love hath no man..."

Dear Michael,
As a former member of "M" Co. 3/3 in 1965 Weapons platoon (Machine-gunner) I come to you as a brother in arms to honor your service and sacrifice to your bretheren, your country, and your Corps.
There are no words that effectivly express my feelings at this moment. As I gaze at your name, I feel a tremendous sense of loss. And yet, as I gazed at my two beautiful grand-daughters (6 and 3 years old) only yesterday, as I put them on a plane; I thought of you. You and the thousands of our brothers (and sisters) that through this countrys' history created, and protected them with a determination to the giving of your lives, that their futures be secured. In the eyes of these small children, and as they grow; while I live...you will live. They already know of your sacrifice. They will one day be told of a little boy or little girl, that will never exist as a grandchild to you, because of your love for them.
From the bottom of my heart, I (we) thank you. And to those who may see these words, remember this....
"The streets and highways of American freedom, are paved with the blood of it's veterans, and the tears of their loved ones."
Sleep in Peace Michael,
Your brother, your comrade, your friend.

"OUR PATHS HAVE CROSSED"

Dear Michael,
Although you do not know me I am getting to know you.
You see, only because of fate, your brother and I have been in touch with each other thru a thing called "The Internet". The possibility of our paths ever crossing is not possible--- but it has happened.

Your brother, Terry still grieves for you and will never forget you.

Your name is forever etched on a place of honor and is truly a place for "Heroes".

Michael-- you see -- I was with Third Battalion, Third Marines, "Mike" Company,
Third Platoon-- 0331 Machine Guns.
That was your exact unit.
That was my exact unit-- however Michael-- I was transferred to 2/9 south Of Danang sometime in Oct. or Nov. of 1966!

You had to have been my replacement.

How ironic it is that after all these years your brother and I should have the opportunity to meet.

Our Lord works in mysterious ways!

I salute you Michael.

Respectfully and with Love,

Craig A. Slaughter
