Remembering An American Hero

Dear PFC Woodrow Charles Cronkrite, sir

As an American, I would like to thank you for your service and for your sacrifice made on behalf of our wonderful country. The youth of today could gain much by learning of heroes such as yourself, men and women whose courage and heart can never be questioned.

May God allow you to read this, and may He allow me to someday shake your hand when I get to Heaven to personally thank you. May he also allow my father to find you and shake your hand now to say thank you; for America, and for those who love you.

With respect, and the best salute a civilian can muster for you, Sir

Curt Carter

In Memory of Woody Cronkrite

Woody,

You were there for me as a friend in junior high school in the Fall of 1960. You were kind to me. I was a new kid on the block. You helped me to feel welcomed at that age when most of us felt very awkward just to exist. You never had the chance to experience all the highs and lows of life on this Earth. i think of you every day. I talk to you in my mind to help you understand all that has changed since you were Killed in Action on 10 September 1967 near Con Thien, Vietnam, as a member of India-2, 3/26. I'll see you on The Other Side.

He was my best friend's brother

I never had a chance to meet Woody, but I heard so many fine things about him from his sister Kathy, my best friend. I know he was a very good man who will be missed by his family and friends forever.
