THE WALL OF FACES

On Memorial Day 2022, at Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Houston, I went to honor all of you who gave the ultimate sacrifice. I came to the site where you were laid to rest. Only God knows why you were chosen for me to honor for I do not know you. I too, was born in 1949, served in the US Army Vietnam Era but never left the States.
Your love of country, duty, honor, sacrifice brought you home to us. Thank you for defending freedom.
May you rest in peace.

Thank you for your service to our country so long ago sir. You were born one day after me. I am 73 and have lived a long and fulfilling life. It is tragic you never had that same opportunity. May you rest in eternal peace.

Think of you often and the laughter you brought to me....it got me in trouble in classes where you sat behind me at TCHS, but it was a memory I hold dear. Watch over us, please. Thank you.

Thank you for your service as a Field Artillery Basic. It is Presidents' Weekend, and good time to remember those who serve. It is so important for us all to acknowledge the sacrifices of those like you who answered our nation's call. Please watch over America, it stills needs your strength, courage and faithfulness.
