Robert Anderson was my cousin. He and I were as close as brothers. He is my hero because of
his gift to our country of the United States of America and the gift he gave to so many of the Viet
Namese people who now enjoy the freedom of the United States, leaving Viet Nam because of the
war. Robert had the kindest heart of any man I've known. He died without seeing his son who was
born before he could get home. On the day of his death, he had three days to go until he was to
meet his wife in Pearl Harbor on his way back to the mainland for his next duty station. He lost his
life while driving a water truck that hit a mine. He is also my hero, because he is now in the arms
of our Lord Jesus Christ. RIP buddy.
